Things you must know

• The Female character challenge will run from the 13th of February to the 15th of May.
• There is no polygon limit, therefore both high poly and low poly models can compete for the prizes.
• Submissions deemed to be adult content are not eligible to participate in the contest.
• Cool renderings are optional but we will definitely consider the presentation of the model when judging.
• Only 3D models uploaded during the period from the 13th of February to the 15th of May will be treated as valid entries.
• Designs uploaded to the gallery are not treated as valid entries.
• Upon joining this challenge, you agree that your rendering scene might be used by sponsors for marketing (non commercial!) purposes.
• The challenge is open to everyone, including teams, legal entities and people from all over the world.
• You can submit as many entries as you want.
• Only models that do not contradict 3D-Coat’s voice will qualify for the prize provided by 3D-Coat.
• Participating in the challenge and uploading 3D models to CGTrader platform is free of charge.
• All the entries must be original and not derivable.
• Employees and relatives of CGTrader and sponsor teams are not allowed to participate in this challenge.
• Any existing taxes or duties must be paid by the winner. CGTrader is not responsible for any illegal actions taken by the prize winners.
• We are independent sheriffs of this challenge, so stick to the rules and don't do anything stupid.

Marmoset

Marmoset Toolbag is a full-featured real-time rendering, animation, and baking suite, providing artists a powerful and efficient workflow for all stages of production.

Hexels is a creative suite for grid-based painting, animation, and design. The Hexels canvas is a paintable grid of geometric shapes that lets artists create complex designs with the stroke of a brush. Quixel

Quixel is an industry leader in high-end texturing solutions, specializing in art tools for the Games, Archiviz and VFX industries. After releasing the SUITE in 2013, Quixel tools quickly became the defacto standard for texturing. This SUITE of tools includes DDO, NDO and 3DO.

3D-Coat

3D-Coat is the one application that has all the tools you need to take your 3D idea from a block of digital clay all the way to a production ready, fully textured organic or hard surface model. Today 3D-Coat is available at 170+ Universities and schools worldwide.

Allegorithmic

Allegorithmic is the developer of Substance, the killer app when it comes to texturing the next wave of 3D. Substance LiveIndie includes access to the latest versions of Substance Painter, Substance Designer and Substance B2M, plus monthly content downloads)

Substance Source is an ever-growing content library where you can find physically based, high resolution and tweakable assets for texturing. From fully procedural materials to physically based scans and hand-painted materials, Substance Source is the place to find assets suited to any type of 3D project.

Cebas

Cebas offers a broad range of proprietary production solutions (finalToon, finalRender, thinkingParticles, among others) for VFX studios and visualization design companies, including GPU rendering software for handling large graphic data.

Rayvision

FOX Renderfarm is Rayvision’s subsidiary cloud render platform. It is one of the leading online render farms working with animation, VFX, architectural design visualization studios, game developers and advertising agencies around the world.

Judging

Our panel of judges is comprised of seasoned 3D professionals from CGTrader and our partners, Quixel, 3D-Coat, FOX Renderfarm, Cebas, Marmoset and Allegorithmic.

Our friend Neilda Pacquing, a member of Women in VR/AR will also be among the judges. She was the one who brought our attention to the issue, which is no surprise, as Neilda is an advocate for diversity and inclusion in the technology industry and is currently working on Self-Defense VR, an application that provides self-defense training for women.

Do I need to upload files or only images of my 3D design?

You need to upload files and images of your 3D design in order to participate in the challenge.

I don't want to put my entry model for sale. Do you have any suggestions?
Does earning money from your digital files sounds like a bad idea? Just try to put higher price on it, let's say 300 USD.

I don't want to lose copyrights on my model after it is sold.
There are General, Editorial and Custom licenses for you to choose under which you want to operate. Individuals or companies which bought your model can't use it for commercial purposes if it hasn't been changed. So no worries - you won't lose the copyright.

How can I participate in the challenge?
Design a 3D female character that suits the requirements and upload it to CGTrader.

What if I put the required tag on my already published 3D model on CGTrader - do you treat it as a valid entry?
No. Only 3D models uploaded in the period from the 13th of February to the 15th of May will be treated as valid entries.

Do free 3D models participate in the challenge?
Yes, absolutely. Sharing artwork is always appreciated in the community.

Can I enter with 3D models which participated in other challenges elsewhere?
Yes. There are no restrictions on publishing and selling your models elsewhere.

Do price tags play any importance when entries are being judged?
No. But do not forget that the prices are always judged by the customers.

I want to participate in the challenge so I am going to delete my already uploaded models and upload them again to meet the "publishing period" requirement. Can I do that?
No. We are tracking every deleted and uploaded model, so it is useless to drive-through our requirements of the challenge
