McGraw-Hill Building

McGraw-Hill Building 3D print model

Description

The McGraw-Hill Building is a 485ft (148m) tall skyscraper in New York City. It was designed by renowned architect Raymond Hood for the McGraw-Hill publishing company and completed in 1931. The building is one of the most unique art deco buildings of its time period. Its exterior is a strikingly blue-green terra cotta, with ribbon windows wrapping around its entire facade. It towered over the Western side of Midtown Manhattan for decades, surrounded by few other tall buildings in the area. The building is often considered to be one of the first designed in the Modernist/International Style that would later become ubiquitous throughout America and the rest of the world.
