This STL file provides a highly detailed model of a German INDUSI / PZB trackside magnet, as used by the Deutsche Bundesbahn and Deutsche Bahn from past eras up to modern operations. These safety magnets are placed near signals and other key track locations and are an iconic part of German railway infrastructure.
The model has been designed to be visually convincing in H0 (1:87) while still remaining practical to print on an SLA resin printer. Its footprint is scaled so that the magnet sits naturally across two sleepers, just like the prototype. For a visual reference, please check the example images that include size comparison.
Printing Notes (SLA Resin Recommended)
- Designed exclusively for SLA/resin printers.
- Before printing, you must add supports manually and rotate the model slightly to achieve optimal surface quality.
- Best results are achieved with PLA-like resin at fine resolution (≈0.05 mm layers).
- No FDM testing has been performed; print quality on FDM printers is not guaranteed.
Painting Recommendation
- Prime the part silver to match the metallic prototype.
- Apply a sepia wash to deepen recesses, add contrast, and simulate real-world weathering.
- Light drybrushing can enhance edges and improve perceived sharpness of small details.
Key Features
- Scale: H0 (1:87), visually optimized for realistic appearance on model track.
- Prototype accurate proportions adapted for reliable resin printing.
- Fits naturally across two sleepers of standard H0 track.
- Ideal detail upgrade for signals, block sections, and trackside scenes.
- Perfect for German-themed model railways from Epoch III to VI and beyond.
