HISTORICAL NOTE: In April 1880 the then Minister of the Brazilian Navy, Admiral Jose Rodrigues de Lima Duarte, presented a report on the urgency of modernizing the Imperial Navy. The Admiral's intention was to acquire two battleships from British shipyards, and thus the battleships Riachuelo and Aquidabã were commissioned. Classified as a Squadron Battleship, it was built in the United Kingdom by the Samuda & Brothers shipyard, and launched overboard on August 14, 1885.

Great model, some minor modifications were required to get it done the way I want it (which is entirely optional), but all in all a really solid model of "Aquidaban" with great price-performance.
