Space Bridge Part 1 from Netflix Transformers WFC Siege

Space Bridge Part 1 from Netflix Transformers WFC Siege 3D print model

Description

A core transportation link in the Transformers universe has always been the Space Bridge, the inter-stellar connection between Cybertron and Earth.

As the Space Bridge as a whole is a fairly massive piece, here's the first part of it as the final back portion gets worked upon and tested out.

The Space Bridge itself is sized to allow most deluxes fit within it. The real fun is having the EL wire turned on in a darkened room! It really gives the appropriate neon sci-fi feel!

=== ASSEMBLY ===

This set was designed to be CyberBase compatible so that it can extend upon the other pieces from this set too.

The Space Bridge is made up of three layers from front to back, with two pillars on either side (they have be labelled accordingly with the layer number in front in the files for clarity!). All parts connect using 5mm rods.

The bottom of the pillars also have a couple of 10mm square holes so they can be secured onto the the corresponding holes of the CyberBase tiles using 10mm rods.

The middle track makes use of some pieces from the following CyberTrack sets:

  • Longer Straight Track - https://www.patreon.com/posts/35603475
  • End Ramp - https://www.patreon.com/posts/35241833
  • Connectors from the Base Set - https://www.patreon.com/posts/35049605

And they can further connect onwards to other pieces or Titans and other Base Mode bots you may have. So you can have a track off Omega Supreme lead right up into the Space Bridge!

=== LIGHTING ===

Further, lighting can be added to this using EL wires! The middle portion which sits below the CyberTracks have been made hollow for wiring to pass through and should be even large enough to house the battery pack and switch for your lighting setup.

Holding the EL wires in place was done using some strategically placed blu-tack, but suppose that superglue would be a stronger and more permanent solution.

The more eagle-eyed amongst you may have spotted that the rearmost lights only have a single loop. And that's because the length of the EL wire needed was miscalculated and we only got a 3m length, when we actually needed around 3.6m (each loop requires about ~60cm). Oh well .... :/

The top part was also designed hollow in case anyone would like to take the further step of doing up some lighting there too!

===

As usual, have fun 3d printing this massive piece for your collection! =)
