BR86 Steam Locomotive with Function-Driven Animation 3D model
This BR86 Steam Locomotive is fully-animated and textured right out of the box. All the moving parts are driven by function modifiers in Blender's graph editor. The artist needs only to adjust the speed of the parent empties/objects. The entire BR86 hierarchy can be parented to an empty that will animate it traveling along tracks.
The first two renders use HDRI skies and Filmic Blender colouring. The third render uses a basic sunlight and sky texture. That is what will be included, as I am unable to attach the HDRIs with the model. A rendered animation of the train can be found at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aZrGekR5Q4 The train is not game-ready out of the box, but it could be modified for games with a little work.
More notes for how to use the model are contained in the viewport; however, this is a tricky model to understand, and it is not intended for beginners. If you have questions, feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Final note: The animation drivers in the model were exclusively created in and for Blender. You may convert the model into whatever file format you need; however, I cannot make any promises that the drivers will carry over.
