Chinese war chariot 770BC The is a model of a Chinese war chariot from the Zhou Dynasty around 770BC. Earlier chariots had fewer spokes. The carriage body was around 0.914m long and 1.65m wide. It was drawn by two horses. Usually a chariot carried three armored warriors with different tasks: the charioteer was the driver, the archer was the primary assault specialist and the third man provided close combat defense.
