This skipping rope is perfect for 3D animation within 3D Studio Max. It is rigged by using the Spline modifier and control points that position the rope, and its handles. It supports both Octane and Mental Ray for 3D Studio Max 2014, but can easily be replaced with any renderer within 3D Studio Max. The materials have been set up to support potential combination between other Gym Models from Davis3D.
For practical implementation, it is recommended that you attach the handles to the hands of your character and use the hands to rotate the handles, as the rope is rigged to always attach to the handles.
The model is only around 5000 polygons, and can be increased with a simple Turbosmooth modifier. Due to the spline rigging setup, if you wish to export to a game engine, you may want to re-skin the model to support bones.
