Description

This is a 3D model of a realistic tennis ball for 3Dsmax/Redshift/Vray. Felt (hair) was created using Ornatrix, so you will need to install the Ornatrix demo in order to render it. No need to buy a license, the demo is free (the only one you need to render).

You get:

  • A clean topology with clean uvs ball model with 2 materials (and 2 ids), the yellow and the grey part.
  • 2 versions of felt (hair of the ball), short for a newer/tidier look, and longer for a worn, used and fluffier look. The felt is an Ornatrix object, collapsed and cannot be edited, it's ready for render.
  • Materials with procedural maps for Redshift 3.* and Vray 5 inside 3Ds max, and 4K textures of those maps if you need to render outside 3Dsmax.
  • 3dsmax 2020 scene with lights and camera, already setup for Redshift and Vray 5.
  • Ball and fur are attached to a dummy for rotation. If you don't need this, just unparent them.
  • I've added alembic and OBJ versions of the fur and the ball (they are over 1M polys!), so that you can import them to Cinema4D, Blender, Houdini or Maya. The look you get might be different due to the differences between apps. Sample renders have been created with 3dsmax and Redshift and Vray when stated. Both Alembic and Obj versions should carry UVS to any 3D app of your choice. Warning! It won't look the same in other apps other than 3Ds MAX due to the fact that you are not using Ornatrix!
