Historical description of the coin:
This is a Ukrainian 5 kopiyok (kopecks) coin from 1992.The coin features:
Obverse (left side): The word Україна (Ukraine) at the top, the national coat of arms of Ukraine (a trident called the tryzub within a shield), surrounded by decorative elements resembling wheat or plant stalks, and the year 1992 at the bottom. This was one of the first coins issued after Ukraine gained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.Reverse (right side): The number 5 prominently displayed in the center, with the word копійок (kopiyok) below it, all surrounded by a decorative floral pattern. The coin is made of stainless steel, giving it a silvery appearance. The kopiyok is a subdivision of the Ukrainian hryvnia (100 kopiyok = 1 hryvnia).
This coin represents part of Ukraine's first post-Soviet currency series. The kopiyok coins were introduced alongside the Ukrainian karbovanets before the modern hryvnia was established as Ukraine's official currency in 1996.
