Historical description of the coin:

This is an Italian 50 Lire coin from 1955.The obverse (right side) features a profile portrait of a woman with flowing hair, representing Italia (the personification of Italy). Around the edge is the inscription REPUBBLICA ITALIANA (Italian Republic).The reverse (left side) shows the figure of a blacksmith or metalworker standing at an anvil with a hammer, representing labor and industry. The denomination L.50 (50 Lire) is visible in the center, along with the year 1955 at the top left. There appears to be a small mint mark R at the bottom right.This coin is made of stainless steel, giving it the distinctive silver-gray appearance. The 50 Lire coin was part of Italy's currency before the adoption of the Euro in 2002. This particular design was used from 1954 to 1989.The coin represents Italy's post-war period, when the country was rebuilding its economy and industry after World War II. The Italian Republic was established in 1946 following a constitutional referendum that abolished the monarchy.
