BRAND NEW - Main Patches for those great meadows

  • 6x100cm patches - short grass
  • 9x75cm patches - short, long and cut grass
  • 6x50cm patches - mixed
  • 4x25cm clumps - long grass
  • 6x10cm clumps - short grassthey vary in density and lenght of grass. Also a few with higher dry grass count for greater variation.
  • scattering only one of the big patches is more than enough to achieve very quick and good results. I have attached a few renders showing results of that kind of scattering (renders with those titles: Patch 1.1, 2.1 5.1)

UPDATES - Main Meshes for smaller lawns and fine tuning

  • 40x fine/dry/cut grass clumps
  • 25x fine/windy/dry long grass clumps
  • 60x individual find/dry/long/short blades groups for very final touches
  • 5x flat dry grass clumps for the extra detail under the main grass and on the edges of your lawn/field
  • 9x dandelions - 4 with the flower, 5 without
  • 11x clovers
  • 4x Couch (tall) grass
  • 4x burned grass patches
  • Renders of the meadow are done using Main Patches, render of the park (with water) are done using Main Meshes.
  • Videos are showing how it looks with different position of the sun and hdri.

One material to rule them all, one to control them, one to and in the green-ness bind them !

  • Native C4D files are updated to latest Redshift Standard Materials. All the grass elements (exluding Dandelions,Clover and burned grass) are controlled with one signle material - one set of textures. Just add them to a material and you are good to go. Diffuse, Glossiness, Bump, Translucency Weight and Alpha (Opacity) are the main ones and i only used these but i have included others as well but didnt used them for above renders. I tried to keep it simple. Materials should be very easly recreatable in other softwares.

  • Same goes for Dandelions, Clover and Burnder Grass - each has its own material with one set of textures.

  • Object names will match materials and textures, but in case i missed something Grass Fine Dry is the main material, that covers, as the name suggest both fine and dry elements of the grass, as well as the Couch Grass mesh ( Tall grass). Texture files with 'Grass Fine' in the name are for the same material.

  • Ground was textured with noise maps and some textures. I baked them into basic textures. If you are getting missing texture error for any reason, please check the textures folder and look for SOIL_#### maps and use those instead anything else. I will not be including original textures for the soil, for this is not the main subject of this product.

It is heavy ! Quality Time !

  • total poly count for the grass only is 26 mil polys
  • each of the big patches has the dry flat grass seperated from the main mesh ( delete the dry it if it gets too heavy - it is just adding some detials under the fine green grass)
  • 100cm patches are about 2mil polys each. Seems heavy but i had no issues rendering it. Each render was 4k, done in about 15 min. Scattered using RS Matrix, so it doesnt create any actual mesh in the scene.
  • i have saved each of these patches and clumps as RS Proxy for convieniance. Also as FBX for other software. They are placed at the 0,0,0 coordinates.
  • pivot points are set to the bottom-center.

Uploaded Files info

  • CGrass_2_MASTER_01.rar is the main C4D file i have used for renders of the big meadow ( trees and the character are not included), HDRI used is : kloofendal_48d_partly_cloudy_puresky_8k.exr (not included)
  • CGrass_2_MAIN_MESHES_C4D.rar ( and the FBX one) comes with all the isolated small grass elelements.
  • Individual_Patches_FBX Part1/Part2.rar - all the Big Patches isolated into seperate files ( each patch is a seperate file) had ti split into two parts, i couldnt upload it as one file
  • Individual_Patches_RS_Proxy.rar - all the Big Patches saved as Redshfit Proxy objects ( each patch is a seperate file) - very light.
