EVERYPlant Giant Redwood LowPoly 3 --16 Models-- Low-poly 3D model

Description

Name: Giant Redwood LowPoly

Scientific: Sequoiadendron gigantum

This Variation: 3 of 4. This is a Low Poly model. A High Poly version is also available.

Notes: These are the largest trees on Earth, though not as tall as the Coastal Redwood (Sequia sempervirens), this tree has a wider girth and a less tapered trunking making it greater by volume. It's a long lived species with the oldest known being 3,200+ years old. While the present day distribution of this species is limited to a small area of California, it was once much more widely distributed in prehistoric times, and was a reasonably common species in North American and Eurasian coniferous forests until its range was greatly reduced by the last ice age. Older fossil specimens have been found in Cretaceous era sediments from a number of sites in North America and Europe, and as far afield as New Zealand and Australia. The Giant Redwood is usually found in a humid climate characterized by dry summers and snowy winters. Most groves are on granitic-based residual and alluvial soils with elevations generally ranging from 1,400–2,150m. This tree occurs naturally only in groves on the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California, however, it is cultivated the world over and noteable groves can be found in France, UK, Italy, Northern Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

Included in this Package: 16 models in total

  1. Standard -- 24,483 polygons, 34,025 vertices -- 84.39m tall. Green, fully mature and in good health. Useable in most scenes.
  2. Thriving -- 26,146 polygons, 36,615 vertices -- 84.39m tall. Peak health.
  3. Unhealthy -- 16,874 polygons, 22,488 vertices -- 83.92m tall. Relatively poor state with much of its foliage missing or diseased.
  4. Dying -- 10,333 polygons, 13,016 vertices -- 83.72m tall. Just hanging onto life and showing only unhealthy and diseased foliage.
  5. Dead -- 5,439 polygons, 6,627 vertices -- 83.49m tall. Showing only bare and broken branches and dead foliage.
  6. Stump -- 465 polygons, 558 vertices -- 11.09m tall. A dead tree with its trunk broken.
  7. Uprooted -- 5,721 polygons, 7,139 vertices -- 38.51m tall. Dead tree fallen onto its side.
  8. Ancient -- 27,432 polygons, 36,155 vertices -- 116.56m tall. Very old tree, larger and considerably gnarled.
  9. Young -- 11,559 polygons, 17,084 vertices -- 59.48m tall. Smaller, some half way through its maturing cycle.
  10. Immature -- 2,193 polygons, 3,137 vertices -- 20.71m tall. Very small and young.
  11. Sapling -- 245 polygons, 374 vertices -- 3.9m tall. Recently sprouted, may not have any leaves.
  12. Lower Poly -- 21,255 polygons, 32,625 vertices -- 84.39m tall. Standard model with fewer polys to save system resources. Intended for mid or distant renders.
  13. Higher Poly -- 29,240 polygons, 38,307 vertices -- 84.39m tall. Standard model with more polys for greater detail. Intended for close-up renders.
  14. Quads -- 31,796 polygons, 51,961 vertices -- 84.39m tall. Quad polygons throughout (as opposed to mixed, which is much more efficient). Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
  15. Triangles -- 38,811 polygons, 34,525 vertices -- 84.39m tall. Triangle polygons throughout (as opposed to mixed, which is much more efficient). Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
  16. Uniform Mesh -- 24,392 polygons, 35,153 vertices -- 84.39m tall. Uniform meshing throughout (as opposed to adaptive). For easier editing. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).

Re-meshing and any reasonable modification available upon request. No charge to existing customers of the product.

The textures included are mainly 4k (4096x4096); additional texture sizes of medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny <1k textures can also be downloaded. Separated alpha maps can be download as well.

EVERYPlant has a mission ... which is to model every plant species in the world (plus some extinct, fantasy and sci-fi variations as well)! Okay, maybe not every plant! If you don't see it in our store, please get in contact; we have thousands of species on file awaiting upload.
