Churchill Tank - WW2 Infantry Support - Blender Rigged

Churchill Tank - WW2 Infantry Support - Blender Rigged 3D model

Description

A rigged Churchill Mk2 Tank as used during WW2 for infantry support! This was made in Blender 2.9x and is comprehensively rigged; the tracks will move correctly along the floor using Shrinkwrap constraints (identified by an arrow and two lines.)

A list of controls for the vehicle includes:

  • All hatchways are operable
  • Main gun recoil
  • Front light(s) control (Cycles only)
  • 3D Viewport Control (controls viewport modifiers)
  • Turret Control (dual setup: turret track when the tank is moving, or turret idle when moving)

On top of this, the tank boasts a cloth sim suspension setup so that the tank will bounce up and down automatically over bumps without the animator having to do this manually. The 'movement' of the tank is controlled by a single bone, and all the small detailing is controlled by custom properties. These can be found attached to the relevant bone 'icons' top left of the tank.

Whilst the tank can go over bumps, it is recommended to keep them relatively small with this particular rig otherwise the center of the tank will sink through. For steep inclines/declines, make sure you change the rotation of the 'CO: Master Movement' bone to compensate.
