UGM-27 US Navy Submarine launched Ballistic Missile

The two stage Polaris A2 missile was a improved version of the A1 solid fueled submarine launched, medium range ballistic missile. The larger A2 missile had an improved range of 1500 nautical miles, carrying a single Mk 1 RV with a W-47 nuclear warhead.
