Abyss Glass Table

Abyss Glass Table 3D model

Description

This coffee table called Abyss Table is originally made by Duffy London.

Every wooden or glassy layer is actually a seperate piece in this model. It can be completely taken apart. There are only simple Materials in the cinema file for without having Maxwell Render you were only to see a gray structure. Also, the cinema file contains the original splines that were used to model the layers.

The upper part of the model (the glass part) is quite exactly modelled after the original piece where as the bottom part is more of a freestyle interpretation.

The images above were rendered with Maxwell Render. In order to have real looking see through glass you need to activate any kind of GI.

Original Description by Duffy London: "Like all of Duffy’s designs, the Abyss Table is a conversation piece as much as a functional one. But while previous works play with gravity, this new design is concerned with depth, and creates a geological cross-section as mesmerising as the sea."

I used Cinema 4D for modelling and Maxwell Render for rendering.
