Model desription and specs

This model is suitable for Particle systems closeups, Game engines, Simulations, Animations renderings or Illustrations - and everywhere where polycount and saving of hardware resources are necessary.

Geometry

Solid surface - WITHOUT SELF-INTERSECTIONS! and overlapping - optimized for transparent material (inside the object there are no any surfaces or polygons - so superfluous details will not appear inside the object when you render with any transparent materials). High quality Low-Poly model.
Clear and accurate topology - mostly quads. Optimized low polycount - 4608 Polygons or 8084 Triangles (!don't need to summarize these numbers. Each of these numbers displays the full polycount of the whole model - in different units.)

What inside the file

All files contain only one model - without any additional objects - and ready to Import to engine or project. Model with lighting scene saved in additional file. Package include 2 variants of Low-Poly model with Smooth and Hard shading. Renders are without any postprocessing. The main feature of this model is the low polycount.

UV

Efficient and dense placement of UV-Clusters - Manually Unwrapped. All UV-clusters in same scale. All the clusters collected in six equal groups - each group according to each side of the snowflake.

Selection Sets

Easy to modify or detach:

  • this feature supported only in .max-files
  • Selection Sets: in main Max toolbar expand Selection Sets list - and choose any of 9 pre saved sets of polys. It include all necessary parts for editing of model.
  • also some sets stored as Materials ID
  • main modular element (1 snowflake side) - select Material ID 3
  • end caps of snowflake - select Material ID 2 and ID 4
  • when mesh editing finished - you may assign Material ID 1 to whole object. This will be enhance object performance within game engine

Rendering

Contains a fully configured V-Ray material. In Files without V-Ray - simple Standart Material with diffuse texture assigned.

Game Engine

Tested in CryEngine - *.obj file. You can see screenshots from CryEngine in Preview images
