Cyathea Australis: Rough Tree FernCyathea Australis, also known as the Rough Tree Fern, is a species of tree fern native to southeastern Queensland, New South Wales, Tasmania, southern Victoria, and Norfolk Island. The massive trunks can grow from 45 - 60 ft in height. The fronds may reach up to 12 ft in length and form a crown of dark green above and lighter green below. The trunk of Cyathea Australis contains high levels of starch and has been used in aboriginal cuisine as well as feed for livestock.
