This creature is the first prototype of a private project I called Limited Edition (in reference to the art gallery founded by Mr. Elijah Price in the 2000 film Unbreakable): a set of exclusive monsters and creatures, made available for download by artists and collectors on the CGtrader platform. As a starting point, I selected The Thing (2011) as the first film to revisit, due to my affection for the production and my veneration for the 1982 classic of the same name. Edvard Thing is the fourth manifestation of the Thing in the film and is heavily influenced by the Norris Creature from the classic film. I started from a human mesh base to develop my version of Edvard Thing. In addition to my own sketches—and, of course, the 1:1 model developed by ADI Studios—I also drew on Mr. Alper Anayurdo's incredible Pinterest sketch.
