The Beard, hair, stash, and eye brows were all done using BLENDER’s particle systems. If I were you I would not mess with the settings for the beard. If you watch the short promo video I made you will notice how the beard works with the lip-sync. I did this by making the beard hair straight near the face then curl farther out. It was hours of trial and error to get this right.
This is a story telling tool. I spent a lot of time on the face, the facial expressions, and the lip-syncing libraries. I render him in EVEE and Cycles. If you change between the two you will need to change the lighting.
