Street Charge - Solar Charging Station

Street Charge - Solar Charging Station 3D model

Description

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Street Charge is the first solar, drop-in, community charging station for mobile devices. It is designed with community and public spaces in mind to provide free and reliable charging. 100% off the grid, Street Charge can be “dropped in” anywhere, and is an elegant symbol of clean solar power.

The stations, called Street Charge, have a sleek modern design, courtesy of Pensa. Goal Zero’s top-of-the-line solar panels, which sit atop a tall poll, branching out much like helicopter propellers, power these chargers. Each station has three small tables to rest your phone on while it charges and, best of all, you won’t even have to worry about having a charging cable with you.

The Street Charge stations will feature six built-in USB ports and three charging tips, including a micro-USB, Apple’s 30-pin connector and even the latest Lightning charger. The station itself is a tall metal pole with a three-pronged fan of 15-watt solar panels at the top. The panels charge internal 168-watt-hour lithium battery to ensure that the stations have enough power to charge your phone even if it’s night or a cloudy day.

Public will be able to charge phones, tablets and other devices even if the city’s power is out. That means Street Charge stations are a 24/7 solar-powered charging stations for mobile users around the city. Besides providing power, Street Charge also has the potential to grow into a hub for lighting, Wi-Fi, and signage for ads and maps.

Street Charge was conceptualized, designed and developed by Pensa, then brought to life with Goal Zero and AT&T as partners. Street Charge was initially deployed throughout NYC and can now be found worldwide. The industrial organic design language of Street Charge strikes a balance between the built environment of public spaces and nature.
