Lance Reddick Memorial 3D Printable Figurine Free 3D print model
DESCRIPTION

A memorial 3D model, sculpted in Zbrush, created to commemorate and pay tribute to Lance Reddick for his contributions to the Destiny universe as Commander Zavala. The model is accessible to everyone in the community for personal use, and I will provide both Resin and PLA versions. Any feedback will be taken into consideration for further updates.

PLA Versions (Optimized, removed extra fine detail and extra support to smaller areas):High Quality = +/- 4 million facesLow Quality = +/- 1 million faces

Resin Version (Higher quality, with text):High Quality = +/- 8 million facesLow Quality = +/- 2 million faces

Update 21-03-2023To clarify, the Resin and PLA versions don't mean these can ONLY be used for that type. It means they are optimised for that type of printing. PLA usually doesn't do well with fine details unless you print it large/have a good machine. So if you want the model WITH text, you can use the Resin STL! But depending on how you print, it will inform the quality ^^

I printed this on an Ender 3 and printed it so it was 7 inches tall which took 29 hours to print. I printed it so Zavala is standing up and had no issues. Some of the supports are hard to get to but that is to be expected. The only warning I'd give to printing 7 inches tall is that Lance Reddick is pretty legible but Our Commander and Per Audacia Ad Astra are not. I also did it without the wording on the back.

Print came out great! Used chitubox to set it up, and printed it on my anycubic photon mono 4k at .05 with a 25° recline. Took about 11.5hrs. Some minor scaffolding on the sides of the back wall leading to the curve but that's no fault of the design itself as far as I can tell. Everything else is about as crisp and clean as a 4K resolution will allow!

Just finished this print in marble pla. Took 22 hours 50 minutes. Used tree support in cura set to 75 degrees. I also scaled it down to 80%. Got a few rough edges where supports where but over all very happy with results.

I printed the pla stl version and it came out very rough with minimal detail being retained. the ghost looks like a cross, the words are illegible, every edge is rough as opposed to being clean and sharp. I have tried slicing the resin version in cura to no avail. Why is this print basically impossible to print quality. Ive tried mulitple setting changes, and ive tried every available file. What am i missing here?

several have asked, none have answered: what is best orientation and support settings for pla? I'm getting floating element errors without supports and 28 hours even on a Bambu, so i'd rather hear what has worked for others. thanks, and great work

Printed this on a Longer Orange 4k printer. Took 16hrs and holds up very well. Text on the back is hard to read but the plate in front is clear.

I just printed this on a Mars2 Pro with default supports at about 55% scale to fit the print bed and I have to say, I'm impressed at the detail here. The type on the back may be tiny now, but it is still legible!

Hey, have any tips on trying to print this on a Prusa? Unsupported will not work, and everywhere is... everywhere, and was wondering how/what orientation you would suggest printing in?

Im looking to use this model to cast in metal but will need to scale down it and maintain specific dimensionality for lettering to ensure it comes out in a casting or engrave after the fact. Is there a version without text ?

Any chance on getting a remix of the FDM broken down a bit? I don't see it being printable without some problematic supports, but I could be wrong. Anyway great work, will update on the Resin side in a few hours.

Just finished printing the HQ PLA model using a 0.4 nozzle and Cura's tree supports. Turned out great! There were a few messy spots that were likely my own fault (I'll play around with support settings) and the only thing negative thing I can really say is that the plaque in front is a little hard to read if you print with a 0.4 nozzle. Otherwise, great model! I'm gonna be printing out a few more for some Destiny friends.
