Ikaros fell from the Synapse portal to Earth, was rescued by Tomoki, and imprinted on him. She said to Tomoki that she is a pet-class Angeloid type Alpha, called Ikaros. She also told him she would fulfill all his desires.

Towards the end of the series, it is revealed that Ikaros once nearly destroyed Synapse under the decree of her original master. In fear of her power, the people of Synapse then sealed her powers and programmed her to burn to death if she went near Synapse without authorization.
