Use Social Channel Sharing To Your Advantage

Social media has taken over the world and we can’t simply ignore the fact almost everyone has a few different accounts on a whole variety of social channels. This is why we moved to improve our own social sharing opportunities so that your artwork could reach new people and make a better impression. Here’s a little bit on how your models will look on social media and why you should share them.

Facebook

The sharing idea here is really simple. You get to choose whether you want to share your Model on your timeline, group or your own Facebook page. Choose the right words for your headline (maybe you’d like add in in a few words about how you made the model) and Voila! Everyone can see your work.

Twitter

Twitter is really easy to use, and allows you to reach the audience in the USA - or so you would think. According to statista, Twitter has 313 million monthly active users - and 247 million are international users.

We’ve tweaked a few configurations, so that if you are already on twitter, you’re 2 clicks away from sharing your artwork with the audience. We've added the twitter cards to the mix, so your shares will be clickable.

Don’t forget: hashtags - #gamedev, #CG or #3dmodel to name just a few - can work miracles if you use them right. Hashtagify.me is the tool to look up the right hashtags.

Pinterest

Believe it or not, Pinterest is probably bigger than you would think. The monthly active user count reached 110 million in 2016. Pinterest is actually very easy to use as it lets you create as many boards as you like and store your pictures the way you want. All you need is to either click the Pinterest icon on your model page or have the Pin it button integrated into your browser and it’s very easy to pin the images from any website or page you want. The “pin it” button will show up on top of any image you move your mouse cursor on. Contrary to Facebook or Twitter, your pins will still be getting engagement after 3.5 months.

And if you don’t want to be alone, we have a designer-friendly board that is just right for you.

  • We've also renewed Google+ and Linkedin sharing as well; you may notice lots of similarities between Facebook and the aforementioned social websites but that’s what makes them easy to use.
• The renewed and optimized sharing options are for 3D models, gallery pages, tutorials, designer pages and blog posts.
• If you have any questions on how to use any of the social media sharing options, what hashtags to use or text to put in, feel free to comment below - we'll be happy to answer any questions and update this post with new insights.
