The Saturn Water Rocket

This is a 3D printable water rocket, designed around the standard (classic) 2L PET Coca Cola bottle. It is very easy to print, and designed as a toy and educational tool. It has no means of recovery, so it will basically launch and come back down ballistically.

3D Printing

Every part can be printed without anny support structure, only a brim is required for adhesion. Every part wits within a 30x30x30 printing volume. I would advise to use classic PLA and at leasdt 1mm wall thickness, which meansmost of the components will have a solid wall.

Nozzle

Several gardena type nozzles can be fitted, or other launcher nozzles which can be found online. The rocket simply fits over the neck of the bottle and does not interfere with the nozzle & launcher.

Flying

Personally I have tested this rocket with pressures up to 8 bar, which will easily launch it over 200ft. The body is designed to at least dampen any burst of a bottle, and allows the excess pressure flow out harmlessly through the vents in the bottom. A flight should preferebly not be made straight up, since the rocket will come back down ballistically. The rocket normally survives the landing without damage as long as it is used on normal/soft fields.
