The Russ Building is a 435ft (133m) tall skyscraper in San Francisco, California. Designed by George W. Kelham, the building was completed in 1927 in a Gothic Revival style. The Russ Building reaches the same height as the nearby PacBell Building; the pair of buildings tie each other for the era's tallest building in the city. While it can't claim any decisive superiority for height, it certainly stands out for its impressive width that stretches across an entire city block. Even though the once-tallest building has since been eclipsed by even higher buildings of recent decades, the Russ Building remains a beautifully preserved piece of San Francisco's architectural heritage.
