Painting TipsPrimer: Grey or black.

Covers & hydrant: Use various shades of metallic grey, rust tones, or dark iron for realism.

For asphalt bases: Dark grey or black base coat, followed by dry brushing to simulate weathering.

Apply a brown or sepia wash to enhance recesses and textures.

For batch painting, secure parts flat-side down on double-sided tape on cardboard for stability.
