THUNDERCATS is an American animated television series that was produced by Rankin / Bass Productions —same that created the Galactic Falcons, the latter was created as part of the comic book series. It was released on 23 January 1985 and is based on the characters created by Theodore Walter Tobin Wolf; directed by the Japanese Katsuhito Akiyama. The series follows the adventures of a group of extraterrestrial humanoid felines.

Tygro is a steadfast and balanced warrior inspired by the tigrillo and integrity, he is the architect and scientist of the ThunderCats. In Lion-O's absence he is second-in-command and is the one Lion-O turns to for advice. He is the author of the design of all the structures of the ThunderCats on the Third Planet: The Feline Den and the Tower of Omens.
