Cyberbase System Flight Stand for Transformers

Cyberbase System Flight Stand for Transformers 3D print model

Description

For bots with flight modes, sometimes displaying them in that alt mode can either be tricky and/or at the very least take up a lot of space on the shelf. Thus the idea for this flight stand was born!

It's a pretty simple setup, built on top of (and hence compatible with) the CyberBase System. The main base piece is designed with a series of holes around and in the middle of it, where 5mm hexagonal rods can be placed.

For a start, the variant lengths of this piece provided are 5cm, 8cm and 10cm long. However, it is a simple matter to re-scaling it along the length axis in your slicer before 3d printing, to get any lengths which you require. The rods have been designed with hexagonal cross sections also to allow for them to be printed flat, making for a very quick print and to afford it the best structural strength.

Typically, using three of these rods in a triangular formation should suffice in providing a good foundation to lay your display bots on.

Being of 5mm cross section, the display rods can then also be pegged into any 5mm ports on your bot, or used in conjunction with earlier pieces such the G1 jetpack and Proton Pack for a mid-flight pose, as shown here with Optimus Prime.

Hope this proves helpful in organizing and displaying your collection, and that it inspires some of ya to showoff the awesome flying alt modes your Transformers have. Happy 3d printing! =)
