Ahsoka Tano Lightsaber

Ahsoka Tano Lightsaber 3D print model

Description

Here, we have a replica of Ahsoka Tano's lightsabers, modelled to replicate a close approximation to the real thing seen on the TV show. As with anything 3D printed, some things require alterations to fit the print bed, get a better print or allow the nozzle to print if you use the FDM type.I used a Bambu P1P with the default 0.8 nozzle settings profile to print these, and I used PETG (what I had on hand then). The only thing I adjusted was:

  • Three walls
  • 10% infill
  • Gyroid pattern
  • 45 degrees for the supports
  • Adaptive set on all pieces for QUALITY, not speed *(not sure if this setting is available on none Bambu printers)

*I will include the Bambu saved file with both sabres pre-set on the separate plates. I hope it saves you some time.

You may have to experiment with your printer to get the best outcome, and you will likely get a much better result than me :). Especially for those with a resin printer, the cog, dials, and screws will probably look much better overall.

Assembly is hopefully easy enough to figure out; there are pins to help keep the main body in place, then glue them together. For the rest of the pieces, I added glue to the bases, placed them roughly where needed, and then held them in place while the glue was set. To glue the metal D-ring, I put the ring in the U-shaped cup, added some glue in the deep recesses of the location where it should sit, and held it in place again. I will include a link to an eBay shop where I bought the metal rings. They were only a few pounds for two. You will need the 38mm size.

There will be some small gaps in a few locations, especially on the larger lightsaber; however, if you paint these, you will probably fill, sand, and prime the sabres to fix this.

I will be working on more lightsabers; this is my first one, so it was a bit of trial and error to get it to look as close to the screen used as possible and be able to print it on an FDM printer.

Thanks for taking an interest in my design, and hopefully, you will check back once I have completed more designs.

These STL/OBJ files are for personal use only and may not be distributed, shared, or resold without express permission. As a 3D printer myself, I am in many groups and will no doubt see who is sharing what.

Best regards

Excelsis
