Egyptian queen tiye 3D Printable modelTiye, also known as Tye, Taia, Tiy, and Tiyi, lived from approximately 1398 BC to 1338 BC. She held the esteemed position of the Great Royal Wife to the Egyptian pharaoh Amenhotep III. Tiye was not only the mother of pharaoh Akhenaten but also the grandmother of pharaoh Tutankhamun. Her parents were Yuya and Thuya. In 2010, DNA analysis conclusively identified her as the mummy referred to as The Elder Lady, which was discovered in the tomb of Amenhotep II (KV35) in 1898.
Tiye's father, Yuya, was a wealthy landowner from the town of Akhmim in Upper Egypt. Despite not being of royal descent, he held significant positions such as a priest and superintendent of oxen or commander of the chariotry. Tiye's mother, Thuya, was actively involved in various religious cults, as indicated by her different titles, including Singer of Hathor and Chief of the Entertainers of both Amun and Min. These titles suggest that she may have had connections to the royal family.
