High-detail, 3D printable model of a twin-gun naval turret mounted on a trapezoidal commemorative base (“U.S. NAVY 250TH!”). Provided as a single, watertight solid mesh exported in .STL and .OBJ formats — ready for slicing and printing with minimal clean-up.
Recommended print settings (PLA / PETG)
Nozzle: 0.4 mm
Layer height: 0.12–0.2 mm (0.12 for finer detail)
Infill: 15–25% (20% default)
Shells / Perimeters: 2–3
Top/Bottom layers: 6–8
Print temperature (PLA): 200–210 °C — bed 55–65 °C
Print temperature (PETG): 240–250 °C — bed 70–80 °C
Supports: Recommended for some overhangs (gun barrels overhang slightly). Use supports touching buildplate or custom supports under barrels if you want cleaner undersides.
Adhesion: brim recommended for small-scale prints to avoid tip lifting.
Orientation tip: orient base flat on build plate (base face down) for best stability and detail on lettering.
Remove supports carefully (needle nose pliers + flush cutters).
Light sanding (220 400 grit) to remove layer lines on the base or barrel surfaces.
Priming and spray-painting (matte grey or navy blue) gives a realistic finished look; dry-brush metallic highlights for accents.
If you want threaded/removeable barrels or internal mounting, scale the model in your slicer and boolean-add mounting holes prior to slicing.
