DESCRIPTION

This spacecraft was the complete system that provided the thrust and life sustaining environment to the astronauts in the command module and LEM during the lunar transport phase of the flight to and from the moon. I included a main rocket motor for exiting the orbit of Earth or the Moon and the directional control between the Moon and Earth. It was a pressurized tank in this service module that exploded on Apollo 13 requiring an abort to moon landing and a successful, long, desperate and extreme effort to bring the astronauts home alive.

This model is medium poly and includes a lot geometric detail as well as high quality materials and textures. The model is built to scale and includes the ability to simulate launch sequence, and Service module jettison. It also will fit directly on our Saturn 1B and Saturn 5 rocket models to be posted soon.
