From the archaeological site of Chellah the marble funerary stele carved in relief is dedicated to the Marinid ruler Abů Ya qûb Yüsuf. A rectangular listel surrounding the stele has an inscription of verse 33 of the Luqman sura. This is a replacement of a Roman base, as an observes a Latin inscription on the back of the stele. The Latin inscription is a dedication to a governor of Betica (ancient Roman province of southern Spain). A. Caecina Tacitus.

Provenant du site archéologique de Chellah la stèle funéraire en marbre sculptée en relief est dédiée au souverain mérinide Abů Ya qûb Yüsuf. Un listel rectangulaire entourant la stèle présente une inscription du verset 33 de la sourate de Luqman. C'est un remploi d'une base romaine, car an observe une inscription latine sur le dos de la stèle. L'inscription latine est une dédiasse à un gouverneur de la Bétique (ancienne province romaine de l'Espagne méridionale). A. Caecina Tacitus.

Texte de la stèle"Je recherche refuge en Allah contre Satan, le lapidé au nom de Dieu le Clément, le miséricordieux, priez Dieu pour le Prophète Muhammad et sa famille, la paix et la reconnaissance, toute créature sur terre disparaitra, il ne restera que la face du Seigneur puissant et généreux Ceci est le tombeau de notre Seigneur et de notre Maitre, le souverain, le juste, le Combattant pour la foi, le martyr, l'Émir des musulmans et le défenseur de la religion, le sanctifié, l'objet de la miséricorde divine, Abû Ya'qūb, fils de notre maitre, le souverain, le juste, le dévot, le Murâbit, le saint l'Émir des musulmans et le Défenseur de la religion, le sanctifié, l'objet de la miséricorde divine, Abu Yûsuf fils de 'Abd al-Haq. Qu'Allah sanctifie son âme et illustre son tombeau.”Il mourut martyr le mercredi 7 Doulqi'da 706.
