3D Model of Fossil Mollusks, also called Steinkerns.
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, a steinkern is a fossil consisting of a stony mass that entered a hollow natural object (such as a bivalve shell) in the form of mud or sediment, was consolidated, and remained as a cast after dissolution of the mold (e.g., the shell).
The actual objects are fossils of bivalve mollusks between 2 and 4 million years old. The fossils were found in the southeast region of South America.
All the meshes were created through photogrammetry techniques, ensuring that the resulting models look exactly the same as the real fossils.
The objects have been retopologized to provide a cleaner geometry. In any case, the original models are also offered as .obj files with their own materials and textures, so that you can customize them as you want.
The textures of the fossils are 4096x4096px.
