Description

The model has real world scale (approximately 28 cm in height). In reality the flower can grow up to 80 cm tall. It is also known under the names Jack-go-to-bed-at-noon, meadow salsify, showy goat's-beard and meadow goat's-beard. It flowers between May and August. The plant is native to Turkey, Kazakhstan, Siberia, Mongolia and most of Europe (not the far North or the far South though). It got also carried to North America, New Zealand, Argentina and Hispaniola. The flower can be found up to an altitude of around 2200 m. The plant is also used in naturopathy.
