Description

This model is a low poly model with single sheet materials animateable control surfaces and counter-rotating propellers. The model is built near to scale and is within a few percent of actual general dimensions. It is also provided in multiple formats for your immediate downloading.

The Mark 12 torpedo was developed by the US Navy in the late 1920s and early 1930s to be a destroyer launched torpedo for use in anti ship battles. The Mark 12 was a slightly slower version of the Mark 11 torpedo. 200 were built. It weighed 3505 pounds and was 271 inches long and had a diameter of 21 inches. It had a range of several thousand yards but was most effective at about a mile. The Mark 12 was gyroscope guided and turbine powered. It had a speed of 27-44 knots.
