Description

TUSAŞ'ın kendi tesislerinde ürettiği ilk T129-A prototipi, ilk uçuşunu 17 Ağustos 2011'de yaptı. Kabul işlemlerinin ardından 22 Nisan 2014 tarihinde ilk T-129A EDH Türk Kara Kuvvetlerine teslim edildi.

The T-129 ATAK is an attack and tactical reconnaissance helicopter jointly produced by TUSAŞ and AgustaWestland as part of the ATAK program, designed for the Turkish Armed Forces in accordance with Turkey's geographical and climatic conditions. The T-129 was developed by modifying various components of the Agusta A129 Mangusta helicopter's airframe and integrating indigenous weapon and software systems. The first completed helicopter underwent a test flight on September 28, 2009, at the AgustaWestland facilities near Gallarate, Italy, conducted by an Italian and a Turkish pilot. The helicopter remained airborne for approximately half an hour and successfully landed after performing various maneuver tests.

The T-129 is powered by two LHTEC CTS800-4A engines, jointly produced by Rolls-Royce and Honeywell. The helicopter can reach a speed of 269 km/h (145 knots) and an altitude of 6,096 meters (20,000 feet). It was designed in two different variants for close air support and multi-role missions. The T129-A variant was developed for close air support missions, while the T129-B variant was designed for multi-role operations.

The first T129-A prototype, produced at TUSAŞ’s own facilities, made its maiden flight on August 17, 2011. Following the acceptance procedures, the first T-129A EDH was delivered to the Turkish Land Forces on April 22, 2014.
