RPG-26 Aglen (GRAU index - 7P27) is a Soviet rocket-propelled anti-tank grenade, developed at NPO Basalt to replace the RPG-22 Netto, to increase the combat capabilities of motorized rifle, airborne and other units.
In the RPG-26, thanks to the improved jet engine, the retractable nozzle in the launcher was abolished and thus the possibility of transferring back from the firing position to the traveling position was realized: in previous models - RPG-18 and RPG-22 - if the grenade was transferred to the firing position, then it is necessary it was almost impossible to fire a shot, since it was almost impossible to move the grenade launcher back to the stowed position, or rather, it was possible only after disassembling the launch tube, which was not provided for as standard (if you try to simply fold it into the stowed position, a shot occurs).
In addition, compared to the RPG-22, armor penetration[2], initial speed (and, accordingly, the range of a direct shot, although not by much) increased, and the time to transfer to the firing position was halved. At the same time, the mass of the grenade launcher increased by only 200 grams.
