A Laufer/Kras cooperation hydraulic moulding press that's being used to produce plastic parts. 3D model is 1:1 modelled after the real world machine. The model is designed using Autodesk Fusion 360. The highest detail went into the design of the mould, the rest of the machine was modelled around this. This machine was part of the final exam of my study electromechanics where I had to redo the electrical and hydraulic system, implement a Siemens PLC and do all the programming required for the automatic cycle of the machine.
How does this machine work? -When the mold is open (hydraulic cilinder is positioned at the bottom), the operator fills the machine up with a plastic powder. The powder is then being compressed by the hydraulic cilinder. Once the compress cycle is finished, the mould will open. The part can now be taken away for sintering and further machining to achieve an end product.
If you have any questions about the model itself, you can always send me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as possible (don't mind my response rate, i got a lot of spam messages i didn't reply to).
