Maison Bagues Bronze Crystal and Rock Crystal Six-Light Chandelier

This fine early 20th century light fixture by Baguès was made in France, circa 1930. Created by one of the countries leading lighting and accessories firms from patinated bronze, cut and molded crystal and their signature mix of rock crystal. The large rock crystal pendent prisms are interspersed with faceted rock crystal and glass half pear prisms creating not only sparkle but reflective light. Also worked with cast glass bobeches and faceted glass candle cups all in dramatic contrast to the patinated bronze carriage. Of special note is the peacock hanging mechanism that hold the fixture aloft . This heavy cast piece also decorated with rock crystal beads dangling from the extended tail feathers is unique and exciting.
