DESCRIPTION

The library, as an important cultural landmark on campus, was born at the beginning of the establishment of Tsinghua University. Its predecessor was the library of Tsinghua School, which was established in 1912. In 1916, the first phase of the library's construction project began, designed by the famous American architect Henry Murphy. The first phase was completed in 1919 and is one of the four major buildings in the early days of Tsinghua.
