Description

SCENE ONLY PARTLY INCLUDED

Low-poly historical accurate reconstruction of traditional peat or turf gathering trenches, pieces and tools. Turf was (and still is in some regions) used for alternative fuel for heating and cooking. In Germany it was gathered traditionally by hand at least until the 1970s. It can be gathered in wetlands. Trenches usually reached a depth of about 2 m. Special tools were needed, for example a very stable wheelbarrow with extra wide wheels to not sink into the mushy ground or special shovels to prick out handy pieces of turf.

The download includes:

  • Modular peat trenches (11 pieces for 3 different depths and different depletion states)
  • Sample arrangement of trenches (like shown in cover scene, but without plants and scattering of peat). Including splines for Forest Pack scattering.
  • Wooden wheelbarrow specialized for muddy ground; in two parts (wheel as separate object)
  • 6 different turf shovels
  • Collection of 5 boards to put on the ground as walk ways over the muddy ground
  • Special shed for drying and storing peat bricks
  • 6 different stacks of dry bricks to store in the shed
  • 4 different piles of fresh bricks
  • 3 different turf houses to initially dry out wet bricks
  • 3 different stacks of wet bricks around sticks
  • 3 different empty sticks
  • 6 different wet bricks
  • 6 different dry bricks
