Terracina Forum Scene 3D model
Scene reproducing the present state of Terracina main square.
Terracina is a small town built by Romans 120km south of Rome on the Via Appia, centuries B.C.while extending their power to the south of Italy.
The medieval Cathedral, facing the square and the Forum, replaces the original Roman Temple, standing on the same basement, and is built in Romanic style.
The few remains of the Forum are still facing the Via Appia; behind them is a big roman Teather, now partly undergroung and with small buildings and towers positioned on top.
The Via Appia, whose stone pavemnt is still preserved in place, like the square stones, passes under the arch of a medieval palace joined to the church and disappears under an old house, to emerge again behind and pass under a small triumph arch.
