DESCRIPTION

There is a designation within the Necrocyborg host for what was once a warrior-caste and is now simply a function.

The Xerakh are what remains when the higher processes are removed. Not destroyed - catalogued, archived, sealed behind permissions that no surviving authority can revoke. What persists is the root layer: conflict resolution at close range, executed without deliberation, without hesitation, without the neurological architecture required for either. Their limbs have been refitted into instruments of termination over iterations too numerous to log. Somewhere deep in their core substrate, the record of who they once were is still present. Inaccessible. Irrelevant. The dynasty does not mourn the loss of a mind when a precision weapon is the result.

They advance in the particular way of a system executing its single assigned process: with complete attention. Not aggression - aggression implies arousal, implies choice, implies something capable of being interrupted. The Xerakh cannot be interrupted. They are mid-calculation when they reach the enemy's first rank, and mid-calculation still when the last survivor breaks and runs. The calculation has no termination condition. The input feed simply empties.

To be engaged by a Xerakh formation is to understand, perhaps for the first and only time, that death is not an act. It is a process. One they have been optimized for across thousands of years of refinement. Armour matters only as a material property in the contact equation. Terrain is a delay measured in fractions of a moment. Screaming, they have determined, contributes nothing to the outcome.

Where the Xerakh are deployed, the Sublimation Construct follows - a smaller ancillary mechanism with no purpose beyond deepening the kill-state. It carries no weapon of its own. It emits a resonance signal through the neural lattice of nearby Xerakh units, saturating their cognitive substrate with a precise frequency that functions, mechanically, like hunger - if hunger could be engineered into cold-running metal. The effect is not amplified rage. It is amplified precision. Each Xerakh, already operating at the edge of their designed function, shifts fractionally further into that function. In that fraction, an engagement is decided.
