Renault Voiturette Type B 1899

(Voiturette means Little Car)

This two-seater car was one of the first sedan cars ever produced. Louis Renault employed coachbuilder Labourdette to impart as many luxury features as he could into the design, in addition to which he added a direct drive gearbox, which guaranteed a better efficiency and noise reduction. The Type B was equipped with a roof, in order to offer greater comfort and convenience to the driver and his passenger. The suspension was also improved. Like the Type A, the Type B won several motorsports trophies in 1899 and 1900.

Fitted with a De Dion Bouton engine single cylinder 450 cc putting out 2.1kW of power with a top speed of about 35 km/h
