DESCRIPTION

Skerryvore Lightouse (Scotland) was designed and built by Alan Stevenson between 1838 and 1844, and interiors completed by his brother Thomas. The lighthouse, a hyperbolic curve granite tower, is positioned on a remote reef 12miles off the west coast of Scotland, not far from the isle of Tiree; with an height of 48m and a base diameter of around 14m, it is the tallest lighthouse of Scotland. The lighthouse was continuosly in operation since 1844 to the fire happened in 1954.After a break of 5 years it was automated and again operative since 1994.

The present drawing is a low poly in-scale reproduction of the Lighthouse and Skerry rocks.Sea plan is limited to rocks area but its mesh is separate from rocks; that allow easy replacement with a larger sea area or with different sea conditions.

Two version of this Lighthouse drawing are present on this Site, a Simple version and a Full one.The present one is the Simple version, differring from the Full for Tower interiors and Lantern details. In fact in Simple version interior stairs and inside rooms are not present and lantern, machiny and prisms, are replaced by a simplified lantern maquette and no machinery.

Lantern present in Full version is a fully animated 1st class lens system, very similar to the one sold on this site with the name of 'Fresnel Lens for Lighthouse'.

Both version show rotating lantern and a very simple sea animation.

Necessary textures are present inside each format zipped file, their dimensions are:
