DESCRIPTION

Cessna O-1E L-19 Bird Dog USAF 3 This model was originally built in Max 13 near to scale, within 3% of general dimensions. It has a good amount of exterior detail and a moderate amount of cabin detail. The model has animated propeller and animated control surfaces including ailerons, flaps, elevators, rudder. The wheels may also be animated. This model also has animateable landing gear retraction, flaps, landing gear doors, ailerons, elevators and rudder. It is available in several formats for a wide variety of end users. This model comes with many different liveries. It is built to be used in in-flight or airport ground animations and video or simulation. It can also be used to populate an airport scene.

The Cessna O-1E /L-19 Bird Dog was designed and developed by Cessna to fill an order for a all metal fixed wing light aircraft by the United States Army for observation and liaison work. The Bird Dog saw extensive service in the Vietnam War. After retirement many of the Cessna 0-1 and L-19 Bird Dogs were transferred to the Civil Air Patrol to be used for search and rescue. After several accidents involving CAP Bird Dogs they were sold to private owners. Most Bird Dogs are now in the hands of private owners, flying museums and are static display at museums.
