DESCRIPTION

would be nice to switch airfoil styles on the go during flight? like a mechanic inside the wing creating the outer wall foil shape. anyways a craft might be able to change its flight characteristics mid air changing certain aspects of the craft, some more advantageous than others in different situations.

could always lathe a airfoil 360 degrees and get that winged disc shaped craft... have the best of both worlds, functional in all directions, but none will remember who invented it i suppose...

note to self: have to ponder more on this mechanical inner wing, see what i can come up with. might be nice to have easier lift from an older type of airfoil, switching it to a super sonic style airfoil mid air.think of memory metals we might control for instance. or pneumatics perhaps but this gets bulky...

the variable wing shape would also guide a certain ionic wind.

what would this do for the ion loop? make one path from point of impact harder and longer, resist, and make one path, shorter and easier, to maximize the effect sought after called lift.better think of a good name quick for the 360 degree airfoil wing design. ah who am i kidding, winged disc will do just fine, as when we lathed a 2D wing design in 360 degrees it would result in a perfect disc shape.

Addendum:Added a few models demonstrating the omni WinG, or uniwing, or 360 degree wing concept. the wing is circular, lathed 360 degrees, then a center wind turbine is added, pushing air over and under the circular omni WinG, creating lift on all sides, or all around the wing.
