RMS Titanic

RMS Titanic 3D model

RMS Titanic 3D is a very detailed near to scale model. It was built near to scale in real units and based on real dimensional information, drawings, photos, and other documents. It looks very realistic and renders nicely without any special render software. The model is also built fully textured. The ship includes detail on the bridge and the stern bridge as well and includes even deck furniture. Cranes, propellers, rudder and lifeboats are all animateable. The model is built geometrically and is a very high poly model. Ladders, radio antenna, doors, nav lights, lifeboats, davits, handrails and many other details are modeled, giving this model a lot of realistic appearance. The model is built to be used in animations and video or simulation. It can also be used to populate a naval scene. Native format is 3ds Max. Model was exported to a wide variety of formats. Other formats are exported in one resolution. This can be further subdivided. Exported formats (3ds, lwo and obj) are prepared well to work correctly with every standard modeling software. Textures are included with all files. Previews were rendered using 3dsmax standard scanline. Model unit is variable depending on the model and references. This model was not designed for 3d printing, it is a digital file only.

The White Star Lines built and launched the RMS Titanic in Ireland in May 1911 making it the worlds largest ocean liner at that time. She was capable of carrying 2435 passengers and 892 crew. There were certain design flaws in the ship one being a lack of lifeboats. There were only 20 lifeboats with a maximum capacity of 1178 persons. This was at the time considered a good arrangement since the ship was considered to be unsinkable.

However the ship sailed from her home port at Southampton England on her maiden voyage 10 April 1912. On 14 April at 11:40pm in the North Atlantic Ocean she hit and iceberg which penetrated the hull in 5 watertight compartments causing the ship to founder and sink in just over 2 hours. 1500 passengers and crew perished.
